Roots

Took an extended weekend break from work ( sat, sun, mon) and went with my family to the villages in remote Gujarat where my grandfather and great grandfather used to live. There were around 35 of us and boy what a gr8 time we had. We boarded a train from Bombay to a place called Than in Gujarat and from there we traveled for 3 days to all the places in a luxury bus. The best part was the train journey as almost half the boogie was booked for our family. I had a blast going to remote places and meeting new people. I was fortunate enough to get an opportunity to drive a tractor ( Yes! and I drove it pretty well ), ride on a bullock cart and eat cotton buds directly off the fields. I really cherish all those moments. It game me ample time to experiment with photography while riding past lush green farms of corn, cotton, maize, etc. I saw many different kinds of birds too and was lucky enough to spot a bald Owl on a tree. I had always said no for this trip coz I was too busy with work but eventually said yes to my cousins. Looking back it was a good decision
Reminds me of the song roots by Sepultura
Roots Bloody Roots
Roots Bloody Roots
Roots Bloody Roots
Roots Bloody Roooaaaaaahh
I
Believe in our fate
We don’t need to fake
It’s all we wanna be
Watch me freeeaaak !!
I say
We’re growing every day
Getting stronger in every way
I’ll take you to a place
Where we shall find our
Roots Bloody Roots
Roots Bloody Roots
Roots Bloody Roots
Roots Bloody Roots
Rain
Bring me the strength
To get to another day
and all I want to see
Set us free
Why
Can’t you see
Can’t you feel
This is real
Ahhh
I pray
We don’t need to change
Our ways to be saved
That all we wanna be
Watch us freak
