Off to Igatpuri

Posted by Nishit Shah on August 23rd, 2008

I am leaving for Igatpuri early in the morning tomorrow for a one day trip to the Vipassana Meditation Centre @ Igatpuri. I have heard a lot about this Vipassana Meditation from many of my friends and recently Freeman attended the 10 day course @ Ladakh centre.  I am very curious to learn more about this course and hence attending this one day introduction. I wanna join the 10 day Executive Course specially designed for working professionals.  Freeman has described his experience here. Learn more about Vipassana @ dhamma.org Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India’s most ancient techniques of meditation. Will write more about my experience once I am back.  Mr. SK Goenka teaches it currently. Do write back if anyone has done this course.

Exactly a year back I had written a post titled 1 year @ Directi and today I am writing another one on completion of 2 years @ Directi Working with Directi is like running in a Dream Run.  In the past 2 years I have learnt a lot, got many opportunities to work on and sharpen my technical skills. It feel so great to be a part of this wornderful organization.

Mumbai Marathon 2009

Posted by Nishit Shah on August 7th, 2008

marathon

Registrations for Mumbai Marathon 2009 have already started and after successfully completing the Dream Run in the 2008 version, this time I have signed up for the Half-Marathon (21.097 km.) I am surprised to know that the registrations for the next year’s Jan event have started so soon, I would have surely missed it, if I had not read about it from Tarun’s Healthy Living blog.

Thanks to this years preparation, I have built up on enough stamina to run continuously for 1km :) Need to start running again regularly. These days, I am more into cycling. I cycle almost everyday for 30-40 minutes, provided I wake up early after working late nights. Anyways, do signup for the next edition of the Mumbai Marathon before they run out of running places as Dream Run is already full ! Meet you there!
