Mumbai Marathon 2009
Events, Sports August 7th, 2008Registrations for Mumbai Marathon 2009 have already started and after successfully completing the Dream Run in the 2008 version, this time I have signed up for the Half-Marathon (21.097 km.) I am surprised to know that the registrations for the next year’s Jan event have started so soon, I would have surely missed it, if I had not read about it from Tarun’s Healthy Living blog.
Thanks to this years preparation, I have built up on enough stamina to run continuously for 1km
Need to start running again regularly. These days, I am more into cycling. I cycle almost everyday for 30-40 minutes, provided I wake up early after working late nights. Anyways, do signup for the next edition of the Mumbai Marathon before they run out of running places as Dream Run is already full ! Meet you there!

I have not been able to register for the Half Marathon, as the website says registrations are closed for the Jan 18 2009 event. Is ther any other way i could register…For example, register by going to Standard Chartered Bank Branch with a manuaaly filled up form and a DD?.
I have participated in the last three Mumbai Marathons, and this I feel is Unfair by the organizers– no Proper Advertisements or announcements for starting the registrations so early.
I am a Sr Citizen and still have been running the Half Marathon. I feel that the organizers wanted to contain the registration mostly within Mumbai/Maharshtra and to NGOs .

The online registrations for Mumbai Marathon 2009 have been closed for both Dream Run and Half Marathon. I guess you sud give it a shot by collecting the forms from Standard Chartered branch or Talwalkar’s Gym. I am not too sure that you can still register by this mode, coz the website says that the dream run and half marathon have been oversubscribed.
Yeah, its too early to close the registrations for the next year’s event. I had heard few Mumbai Marathon 2009 radio commercials. Personally, I came to know about this from my friend’s blog. I would suggest to call on the event helpline no @ 9892566666 and ask for guidance.

Only today I noticed that the registrations for the 2009 Mumbai Marathon have been closed. It appears that Mumbaikars are becoming quick to the punch and are all of a sudden planning ahead!@#%^&*?
I ran the half marathon in 2007 here in Mumbai and am still hoping to run this coming year with a bit of luck. If anyone has an extra Bib Number for the 2009 Mumbai Half Marathon please contact me. It would be appreciated.
Untll then. Keep running.
Cheers, Jill

Nishit, I don’t know what level of running you are at, but if your just starting out, try ‘couch to 5k’.
As a rule, you should slowly build up your distance, not adding more than 10% per week, once you start going beyond 5k. More than that, can cause injuries
