I wanna be a Rockstar

Posted by Nishit Shah on July 22nd, 2008

Have fallen in love instantly ever since I have heard this song of Nickelback. Even the video is damn cool. Lyrics r just too good….pretty much sums up everythin I want in life …. the PB Bunnies are an added bonus ;)

I’m through with standing in line
to clubs we’ll never get in
It’s like the bottom of the ninth
and I’m never gonna win
This life hasn’t turned out
quite the way I want it to be

I want a brand new house
on an episode of Cribs
And a bathroom I can play baseball in
And a king size tub big enough
for ten plus me

I’ll need a credit card that’s got no limit
And a big black jet with a bedroom in it
Gonna join the mile high club
At thirty-seven thousand feet

I want a new tour bus full of old guitars
My own star on Hollywood Boulevard
Somewhere between Cher and
James Dean is fine for me

I’m gonna trade this life for fortune and fame
I’d even cut my hair and change my name

‘Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars
And live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We’ll all stay skinny ’cause we just won’t eat
And we’ll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars
Every good gold digger’s
Gonna wind up there
Every Playboy bunny
With her bleach blond hair
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar

I wanna be great like Elvis without the tassels
Hire eight body guards that love to beat up assholes
Sign a couple autographs
So I can eat my meals for free

I think I’m gonna dress my ass
with the latest fashion
Get a front door key to the Playboy mansion
Gonna date a centerfold that loves to
blow my money for me

I’m gonna trade this life
For fortune and fame
I’d even cut my hair
And change my name

Iron Maiden Concert

Posted by Nishit Shah on January 31st, 2008

Iron_maiden tickets

All set for the Iron Maiden Somewhere Back In Time concert tomorrow. My tickets are here, have taken an off from work tomorrow. The concert is at MMRDA grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex. Gates open at 4pm with opening acts by Parikrama. The tickets are cheap at 1000 and 1650 as compared to other concerts that I have attended. I have bought the Rs.1650 one and will reach the venue very early to grab a place to stand very near the stage, something that I had done for the Roger Water’s Dark Side of the Moon concert last year. I would be wearing my traditional rock concert T-shirt. Its always the black Tee with Cannabis leaf design on it ! Will write more about the show and post few pics on my flickr account after the show !

Iron Maiden is back with a bang and it bigger and better ! The new Maiden tour kicks off in Bombay on Feb 1st and no points for guessing who was the first one to book the tickets ! I am all geared up for the hope. Its gonna be the biggest gig I have been to of course after the Roger Waters one last year. I am sooo excited for the show, its hardly 2 weeks away now. And all I have been doing is listening to Maiden whole day long !

Buffalo Soldier

Posted by Nishit Shah on May 12th, 2007

Bob Marley

Buffalo Soldier, Dreadlock Rasta:
There was a Buffalo Soldier in the heart of America,
Stolen from Africa, brought to America,
Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival.

I mean it, when I analyze the stench -
To me it makes a lot of sense:
How the Dreadlock Rasta was the Buffalo Soldier,
And he was taken from Africa, brought to America,
Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival.

Said he was a Buffalo Soldier, Dreadlock Rasta -
Buffalo Soldier in the heart of America.

If you know your history,
Then you would know where you coming from,
Then you wouldn’t have to ask me,
Who the ‘eck do I think I am.

…………
…………

Am a big fan of one of the greatest reggae artists Bob Marley Buffalo Soldier is one of my favorite song of Marley. Changed my playlist to all my favorite Marley songs. Particularly I like Exodus, The Redemption Song, No Woman, No Cry, Three Little Birds, Red Wine, Jammin, etc

Wish he was still alive..

Aerosmith
Check out this Aerosmith is gonna perform here in Bombay on 2nd June’07. Its gonna be just awesome. Aerosmith is a prominent American rock band, regarded by some as “America’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band.” All I need is just some more reason to headbang! Looking forward for Aerosmith’s gig in Bombay.

Am a proud owner of Aerosmith’s discography. My favorite songs are: Janie’s Got a Gun, What it takes, Amazing, Crazy, Livin on the Edge, Pink, Angel, Dude looks like a lady, Sweet Emotion, Last Child, of course I don’t wanna miss a thing.

Dark Side of the Moon

Posted by Nishit Shah on February 19th, 2007

Roger Waters

The day that I was waiting for so desperately had finally arrived. 18th Feb 2007, the legend, the creative genius of the legendary Psychedelic Rock Band Pink Floyd, Roger Waters will be playing in Bombay as a part of his The Dark Side of the Moon World Tour. I had booked my Rs.3000 ticket well in advance to avoid end moment disappointment as the show was bound to be a grand success and might be difficult to get tickets in the end.

When the gates opened at 5:30pm, I was among the first few to get in :) and was lucky to get a place to stand right behind the barricade just one person between Roger Waters and me.

As the crowd started to gather, I was waiting very impatiently for the show to start. It was just 6:00pm and the show was supposed to start at 7pm and it it felt like it was the longest hour that I’ve ever waited in my life for someone.
Finally it was 7:15pm and the show started with a bang. He started Set 1 with
1. In the Flesh
2. Mother
3. Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun
4. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts II - V)
5. Have a Cigar
6. Wish You Were Here
7. Southampton Dock
8. The Fletcher Memorial Home
9. Perfect Sense, Parts 1 and 2
10. Leaving Beirut
11. Sheep

Then we had a 15 minute break and then he started with

Set Two (The Dark Side of the Moon)

1. Speak to Me
2. Breathe
3. On the Run
4. Time
5. Breathe (Reprise)
6. The Great Gig in the Sky
7. Money
8. Us and Them
9. Any Colour You Like
10. Brain Damage
11. Eclipse

Encore

1. The Happiest Days of Our Lives
2. Another Brick in the Wall, Part II
3. Vera
4. Bring the Boys Back Home
5. Comfortably Numb

The show was too good. One of the best concerts I have attended.
